ABOUT US - Part I
The founders of the Ukrainian Engineers' Society of America (UESA) were
Ukrainian engineers, immigrants, who were forced to leave their homeland
in the aftermath of World War II and who, after several years of displacement
in the countries of western Europe, settled in the United States.
UESA was founded in New York City on September 18, 1948 and the Society's
first Annual Meeting was held on November 20, 1948. The Annual meeting,
attended by 22 members of the Society, ratified UESA's statute/charter
and elected the first Board of Directors, with engineer Volodymyr Bohachevsky
as president.
The main goal of the UESA is to unite engineers and scientists for their
mutual professional enrichment and exchange of knowledge; and also to study
the current status of technology, industry and the economy in Ukraine;
and for the development of a social/professional network.
